Task Manager

Overview
The task manager is an ongoing, iterative feature that was implemented to increase efficiency for both internal users and external lender partners.
Today, we continue to add functionality to improve its value. I was involved in laying the foundations of the task manager as well as research and strategy to inform future iterations.
Problem
Lender Platform had very basic functionality — a way to submit loans, view details, and send messages. A loan submission requires the upload of a number of documents, and lenders were referring to a PDF list as their checklist. Often, when these documents go through due diligence they require additional information or revisions. The conversations around these various documents were occurring in one, linear, unorganized message box.
Solution
I designed a task list that would allow files and conversations to be contained separately. The MVP separated tasks by type (Upload vs. Question), then later grouped into categories and introduced additional functionality such as commenting, timestamps, assigning, status, due dates, and drag & drop uploads.
Outcome
• Launched pilot version in August 2019, now 100% adoption by both internal and external users
• Increased operational efficiency, reduced diligence time by reducing required communication and errors
• Unanimous positive feedback from users on an improved experience
• Provided a foundation for task dashboard, a customizable view for individuals to manage their tasks and workflows
